Cooking Team Information

Nashville will feel the heat once again this Fall as the [event_info type="iteration"] Annual Music City Southern Hot Wing Festival (MCSHWF) fills Downtown Nashville with the tantalizing, alluring aroma of hot wings on the barbie on [event_info type="event date"] from [event_info type="event hours"] .

BOOTH SPACE INFORMATION:

  • Booths are allocated in 10′ x 10 units.
  • Maximum No Teams / Booths (25 Limit)

WHERE:

The charity event will be held for the second consecutive year at the [event_info type="location"]  located just in front of the Country Music Hall of Fame (and behind the Hilton Hotel). With teams from near and far vying to take home the Grand Prize and “Music City’s Best Wings [event_info type="this year"] ” bragging rights”.

HOW MUCH:

The fee to participate in the contest is $200 per team (the entry deadline is [event_info type="deadline"] ).  We also require you provide an additional $100 clean up deposit which will be returned as your team checks out.

HOW TO APPLY:

To compete you much first read and accept our competition rules and regulations.  Then download and complete the application below.  Don’t forget to mail in your check with the application along with a $100 clean up deposit to the following address:

JUDGING:

This is cook-off is a [icon type="link"]Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS) sanctioned event.  Each contestant will be evaluated through a blind judging process by independent KCBS Certified representative(s).  This is designed to guarantee fairness to all the competitors and the event organizers for Music City Southern Hot Wing Festival have no input in this process. The rulings of the KCBS judges are final.

PRIZES:

In addition to bragging rights, we will award prize money and a trophy to the top 3 scoring teams as determined by our KCBS judges.

  • $1,000 Music City Grand Champion
  • $250 2nd Place
  • $100 3rd Place

In addition, the team that has the best display will be eligible to win $100.00.

RAIN DATE:

VERY IMPORTANT! We specify, in advance, an alternative rain date for the safety and protection of our patrons and competitors alike should severe weather conditions impact the primary established event date and time. Though any rain date changes are often considered to an inconvenience for everybody involved you, as a contest participant, are responsible for factoring in this possibility (however remote) into your planning to attend this event.

Day of the Event

  • Load in: [event_info type="event date"] 8:00 AM-9:00 AM
  • Judging: 4:00 PM
  • Winners Results Announced: 6:00 PM
  • Load out: After final Music act around 7:00 PM

Additional Team Requirements and Disclosures

Each item is required to supply all the items for the cooking of wings and general materials needed for their booth.

SAFETY IS IMPORTANT TO US!  However, each team is liable for any bodily or other harm as a direct result of negligence on the part of that team. In submitting your application you will be acknowledging and accepting these terms and indemnifying the Southern Hotwing Festival Group of any and all liability resulting from such negligence.

No, as long as the online application is still available to be filled out and submitted then we are still accepting team entries.  Once this form is closed or no longer available this means that we have run out of room for this year.

[toggle_me title="How many wings are the teams required to cook?"]
40lbs Minimum, We ask each team to bring one 40lb box of wings for sampling and donations by patrons during the course of the day. We will have additional wings on reserve which can be provided to your team as needed should you run out of your initial 40lbs. Event staff and volunteers will be able to assist you as needed should such a catastrophic depletion of hot wings occur.

For the KCBS competition and wing judging, you will only need to provide only 7 (seven) single wings.
